Feminism Beyond White Supremacy: Where We Have Been and Where We Need to Go
This session will cover a brief history of how white people became white, and the various roles white women have played in upholding white supremacy through the lens of white feminism. We will also explore the ways in which it has diverged from Black feminist practice. This session will delve into ‘bright spot’ moments of feminist organizing in resistance to white supremacy. It will lift up the Combahee River Collective Statement, as well as achievements in white women organizing other white women, particularly poor women, Southern organizing, Jewish organizing, and LGTBQ+ organizing.
